The Bois Cheri Tea factory is
located in Bois Cheri, which is a small village. Bois Cheri is
also a tea estate. When coming from Grand Bassin, the famous
sacred lake of Mauritius Island, you will come along tea
plantations. At Bois Cheri, located near Grand Bois and La Flora
is found the Bois Cheri tea factory which is open to visitors.
Tea is very popular in Mauritius even though it is said that the
tea from Mauritius does not taste as good as it should because
it is not grown in enough high altitude. The tea is often mixed
with vanilla flavour to improve its taste. Tea time is common in
Mauritius, this something that has been kept from the British
and they use to drink tea with milk.
