There are in Mauritius three main
manufacturers of tea which are known as Bois Cheri, Corson and
Chartreuse. The tea production exists years ago, tea leaves have
been introduced in the country during the French colonisation of
Mauritius Island which was at this time known as Ile de France.
Bois Cheri is the most well known and more sold label in
Mauritius. Bois Cheri has also more tea varieties than its two
concurrences. Tea is a very important drink for Mauritius
Island. Mauritian buys mostly Bois Cheri label tea. Even now the
tourist adore the Mauritian tea often flavoured with vanilla. |
