Air Mauritius is
the national airline of Mauritius Island. The main base is
at SSR International Airport in Plaisance. The symbol of Air
Mauritius is the famous Paille-en-Queue, a fish eating
tropical bird which can be seen in Mauritius.
The headquarters is
located at Port Louis the capital city of Mauritius.
Air Mauritius has
been created in June 1967, but it was only in 1972 that it
started operating as airline.
Air Mauritius serves over
thirty destinations with around eighty flights per week.
The airline is
known as offering a very good service. The fleet of Air
Mauritius consists of, 7 Airbus A340-300, 2 Airbus A319-100,
2 ATR 72-500, 3 Bell Jet Ranger.
There have been no
important incidents or accidents known with Air Mauritius
the only known incident was in August 2007 on an
Airbus
A340-300 on flying to Hong Kong where there was severe
turbulence around thirty minutes before landing.
So Air Mauritius
airline can be considered as a safe airline.
