The Vanilla Crocodile and Tortoise
Park is situated in Riviere des Anguilles in the South
of Mauritius, it opened in 1985 it has the name of
vanilla because it occupies the valley of a former
vanilla growing area. It has a tropical forest with
palms, freshwater streams and local flora and fauna. The
first crocodiles were imported from Madagascar. There is
also a collection of monkey, giant tortoise, rabbits,
bats, wild pigs. You will find also one of the largest
species of lizard, the giant Phesuma from Madagscar.
