Mauritius is
located in the Indian Ocean close to Madagascar. The island
is considered as the easiest point to reach in the Indian
Ocean.
As Mauritius is a
small island there are not so much sports. The main sport
that the Mauritian fancy is football. In general most female
and male population love football and they are usually
supporters of Britain groups.
There are also
other sports practiced on the island but a lot mainly by the
tourist as golf, water sports, deep sea fishing.
Mauritius has also
football groups and clubs composed of Mauritian.
Some of the
main and well known clubs are AS Vacoas/Phoenix, Arsenal
Wanderers, Curepipe Starlight SC, Pamplemousses SC, Faucon
Flacq.
Another
sport fancied by the Mauritian is the horse racing which is
held at the Champs de Mars in Port Louis.
Horse racing is
not the whole year, it is held part of the year only. Lot of
Mauritian just dream of going to the horse racing bet on a
horse and wish to win lot of money.
Sports are
practiced in schools too which is known as physical
education, the Mauritius Sports Council encourage
participation in sports. The usual sports at schools are
athletics, volley ball, basket ball, football, tennis.
But Mauritius main
sport is football.
