Being a tourist visiting the island gives you the
advantage to make duty free shopping in a large
number of shops in the island.
To be able to buy goods duty free the tourist
should show her/his passport and the ticket.
Shopping makes also part of the different tours proposed by
the different tour operators.
There
are even electronics appliances which can be bought at duty
free.
The duty free department allows the following goods to be
imported in Mauritius without customs duty:
2 L of wine or beer and 1 L of spirit, 250g of tobacco
products or 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars, 100 ml of perfume
for own use and 250 ml of eau de toilette.
