The Mauritius University is located at Réduit, Moka.
The University of Mauritius is not the only tertiary school
found in Mauritius. Most of the tertiary schools are private
schools which mean they cost a lot of money.

In the past, it was not easy for a lot of students after
secondary schools even with good results to enter the
university because of the cost. Nowadays there is more and
more students going to private universities as long as their
parents can afford it of course.
The University of Technology known as UTM was able opened
its door in 2000 allowed by the Government of Mauritius.
The University is located at La Tour Koening, Pointe aux
Sables. The president of the University of Technology is
Fakhru Currimjee.

The start phase was consisted to merge in MIPAM and SITRAC
Ltd.
In September 2000, the three schools named School of Public
Sector Policy, School of Business Informatics and Software
Engineering and School of Sustainable Development Science.
