In Mauritius school
is from January to November contrary to Europe which is from
September to July.
The school terms in
Mauritius are divided into three parts. After each term
there is an examination made by the students, it is like a
revision of what the students made in the previous three or
four months.

The
primary schools start as from the age of five for a duration
of six years. Before primary school the kids go to
kindergarten. After primary schools the children go to
college where they study five years till SC (School
Certificate) where they receive a certificate and if they
make two more years which is known as HSC (Higher School Certificate) they get another
certificate. After that some students continue tertiary
education as university or start to work. There is in
Mauritius government schools also known as public schools
which are free of charge and private schools which cost a
certain amount of money every month.
