On the picture
above you can have a look of the view you will see from the top
of the crater of Trou aux Cerfs. Trou aux Cerfs is located in
the city of Curepipe. Curepipe is a town located on the central
plateau in the district of the Plaines Wilhems. Mauritius is
divided into nine districts. Curepipe was usually mainly
inhabited by the French descendant, when the French colonized
the island they settled and founded the town almost at the
beginning of the colonization of Mauritius. The area around
Curepipe remembered them France as it was cool and they even
gave as name to one of the neighboring town Nouvelle France
which means in English “New France”. |
