Here above you can see a picture
of a tourterelle domestique which in English is known as dove.
You can find it in the Casela Bird Park in Black River,
Mauritius. The Casela Bird Park is not far from Flic en Flac and
Tamarin which are small villages on the western part of the
island. The tourterelle looks like a pigeon and you can see it
on the picture it has white plumage. Their main food is usually
fruit, plants seeds. Some people keep it as pets in their
garden. The dove forms part of the Columbidae family which has
around three hundred species. In Casela you can discover a
variety of dove species, the park was mainly known for birds but
with time it has acquired other animals too. |
