On the above picture you can see a tigress of Bengal which is mainly known under Bengal Tiger or Royal Bengal Tiger, this animal is a subspecies of the tiger. The Bengal Tiger was formerly found in India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal and Bhutan. The Bengal Tiger as every tiger species are hunters. In wild environment they may hunt sambar, wild boar, water buffalo, chital, gaur and barasingha but they also prey on smaller animals as peacocks, monkeys, langurs. They hunt most of the time during the night. The numbers of Bengal Tigers is estimated at around 4.500. Most of them live in Bangladesh and India. When you visit Mauritius you will have the chance to watch them in the Casela Park.
