The Ste
Therese church is located in Curepipe Mauritius. Mauritius is an
island located in the Indian Ocean. The Ste Therese church was
founded in 1869. The church was named after Theresa Commerford
and sister of “l’abbé Commerford”. The architect who drew the
plans of the church was Mr. Rampan but after some problems, he
went away with the plans of the church. Sir Virgile Naz was
engaged to complete the church and luckily he kept in mind the
details of the plan which allowed him to finish the church. The
Ste Therese church was completed in December 1872. Ste Helene is
another popular church in Curepipe. There are still some people
living in Curepipe who still remember of the construction of the
Ste Therese church. |
