The cow is considered as sacred
in Hinduism, the cow is the symbol of strength, abundance,
wealth in the Hindu belief. Hindus respect the cow for different
reasons; the cow provides them in milk and its products. In the
Hindu society the cow has a very important place and this is a
one of the reasons why the Hindus that deeply believe in their
religion avoid eating beef meat. In Hinduism there is a large
number of gods with animals head and human body, there are other
animals as monkeys or elephant which are considered as holy too.
In the Rig Veda, a compound, the cow were important to the
people of Rigvedic, it figures the symbol of wealth often. In
different Hindu painting the cow is seen. The picture above was
taken at Grand Bassin and as you can see the people gave offers
to the cow to thank it in giving them milk and other products. |
