Here on this
picture you can observe the Royal College of Curepipe which is
located in face of the Mauritius Commercial Bank in Curepipe.
The Royal College is one of the oldest schools of Curepipe. The
Royal College of Curepipe has and had a very good reputation.
The Royal College also exists in Port Louis. The history of the
Royal College already started since 1791 even though that the
actual college was completed in 1914. From the beginning the
college was known under the name of College Colonial or College
National first established in Port Louis. The college was for
students from particular classes. It was only in 1813 that the
school was named Royal College and was given the status of
public school. In 1871 the college was founded in Curepipe, it
was founded for students not to make a long trip to go Port
Louis from Curepipe. |
