When being in Port Louis you will
see that a part of city is surrounded with a mountain range
which is called the Moka Range. Le Pouce and Pieter Both are the
two famous mountains of the Moka Range. The city has also
conserved a large number of historical colonial buildings as the
Government House one of the oldest building built by the French
or Fort Adelaide which was constructed by the British. The
Pieter Both mountain is the second highest mountain of Mauritius
Island and is over eight hundred metres tall, the mountain has
been named after the first Governor General of the Dutch East
Indies, Pieter Both. To have a landscape view of Port Louis, one
can climb the Signaux mountain which offers a magnificent view
of port Louis. If you want to see Port Louis architecture the
best place is the Fort Adelaide. |
