This picture
has been taken in Port Louis from the parking place of the
Cathedral Square. Port Louis is the capital city of Mauritius
Island. You can also see the Saint Louis Cathedral has been
built as you can see it in 1933 but since 1752 a church exist
and was the first one in Mauritius. The Saint Louis Cathedral is
a popular church in the island. The St Louis cathedral is a
catholic church of a gothic style. In St Croix one of the
villages of Port Louis there is a place where lot of catholic
Mauritian and other religion visits very often but mostly on the
9 of September every year, it is Père Laval, on the 8 September
which is the eve of his death anniversary the Mauritian make a
pilgrimage to his shrine in St Croix. There is in Mauritius a
large number of churches, temples and mosque as the island is a
mixture of culture. |
