In the Pamplemousses garden there is a big colonial house which has been constructed years ago, it is known as Chateau de Mon Plaisir. The property where the garden is was bought by Mahe de Labourdonnais, when he bought the land he built his house which has been destroyed but was as beautiful as the one seen now. The one who made the botanical is Pierre Poivre a botanist and explorer and he lived in the residence for several years with his wife and children then he left the country known as this time Ile de France, and went back to France. Nicolas Cere tried his best to continue the good work of Pierre Poivre. Nowadays Pamplemousses Garden is known in the whole world.
