The Pamplepousses garden located
in the northern part of Mauritius Island can be also called the
Eden Garden. The place is just incredible; you are surrounded
with huge trees and colourful flowers and ponds full of lotus.
The property was first bought by Mahé de Labourdonnnais and he
constructed his house on it and Pierre Poivre a botanist and
explorer brought different seeds which he planted in this huge
garden. The botanical garden is one of the most visited gardens
of the island. Not only tourist enjoy the place but also the
native from Mauritius. The entrance to the botanical garden is
free but since years it has been discussed of making an entrance
fee. |
