The Ostrich is also a bird that you will able to discover in the Casela Bird Park. The ostrich is a big bird that is not able to fly. The bird is originally from Africa. They have a long neck and long legs and have the ability to run at a speed of around 65 km/h. The Ostrich is considered as the largest living species of birds. Their weight is usually from 90 to 130 kg, but there have been records made up to 155 kg. The Ostrich live in groups of 5 to 50 birds and they often travel together sometimes also with other animals as antelopes or zebras. The main food of Ostriches are seeds, they occasionally eat locusts. In mythology this birds is famous for hiding its head in the sand. The ostrich is sexually matured between the ages of 2 to 4, for females it is about six months earlier than males. The eggs of an ostrich can weigh till 1.3 kg and the eggs Ostriches are known as the largest one.
