The mono fingerfish is known in the
scientific language as monodactylus argenteus. It is a
common fish in many aquariums. It is found in the
Mauritian waters and is originally from the eastern
coast of Africa to Indonesia and asia. The most common
names used for this fish are mono, fingerfish, silver
batfish, Malayan angel. Monos are brackish water fish.
The fingerfish need large swimming area as they are very
quick fish. It is known to be a shy fish so if you have
it an aquarium it should have a lot of hiding places.
They are omnivorous and like all types of food. In
Mauritius it is known as “lune”. |
