In the Medine sugar estate where
sugar is produced, there are different machines which are there
for different procedures until the cane is transformed in sugar.
Here above is a steam machine where the cane is. The Medine
factory located in the western side of Mauritius Island is open
to visitors as well as the rum distillery where you taste
different type of rum produced and also buy them. In the
distillery you can see the casks full of rum being kept until
maturity. There are different cocktails that can be made with
rum, it doesn’t taste so good when drunk pure. Rum has quite
high percentage of alcohol. |
