Kali also known as Kalika is one
of the Hindu goddess in Hinduism. This goddess Kali is
associated with destruction and death. Actually Kali is
considered as the goddess of Time and Change but not of death.
Kali is a goddess that can be seen at Grand Bassin located in
Mauritius. Grand Bassin is a sacred lake where the Hindu
community goes to pray the different gods which are there. The
main temple had been built for the God Shiva. Since some years
ago there has been a huge statue constructed and is the tallest
statue in Mauritius. The statue is known as Mangal Mahadev. Kali
is also associated to other Hindu goddesses as Parvati, Sati,
Rudrani, Durga, Bhadrakali. As you can see on the picture which
has been taken at Grand Bassin, Kali is a black colored goddess.
Kali is not only at Grand Bassin when there is also another
temple where Kali can be prayed in Mauritius. There is on the
island a large number of Hindu temples.
