above you can see the Champs de Mars located in Port Louis where
is held horse racing during some months of the year in Mauritius
Island. But of course that’s for professional of horse riding.
If you have as hobby horse riding there are some places in
Mauritius where you may do some horse riding mainly in hotels.
The hotels where horse riding is available are: La Pirogue, La
Plantation, One & Only Le Touesssrok, Sugar Beach Ambre Hotel,
Coco Beach and Maritim Hotel. At Maritim Hotel located at
Balaclava, there are carousels and stables open from Monday to
Saturday. Domaine Les Pailles located in Pailles which is a few
kilometres away from the capital city, Port Louis; also provide
Mauritian and tourists in horse riding. Domaine Les Pailles is
also the main equestrian centre of Mauritius and have around
forty five horses. If you want to give it a try, just join the
group in the morning and the horse riding lasts around two
hours. There are also horse riding lessons provided to children
as from five years, there are around eight ponies available in
the centre. Usually the centre organises once in a month a night
out, mainly during full moon for an hour of horse riding and
after there is barbecue prepared for everyone and the evening is
ended with some singing and music. |
