On this picture, you can see a Hindu god. The picture has been made at Grand Bassin which is a sacred place for the Hindus of Mauritius Island. The god as you can see is a monkey actually. Hindu community prays a lot of animals that signifies a god for them. Grand Bassin is a sacred lake where is celebrated the Maha Shivaratri. A large number of Mauritian Hindus will walk from their home to the lake in white and make donations to the gods. They will bring coconut, banana, flowers and light an earth lamp in front of the lake. A lot of people tell that the lake of Grand Bassin is related to Ganges River in India.
