The hepatus also known as the surgeon
fish can be found in the aquarium of Mauritius. It is a
beautiful blue and yellow fish as you can see on the
photo. It is also known as Blue Tang, it forms part of
the achanthuridae family. The scientific name is
paracanthurus hepatus. There is also the yellow tang
which is also a beautiful yellow fish. The tangs are
salt water fish mostly found in shallow reefs. These
fish are often in aquariums because they look very
beautiful with their blue or yellow colour; their ideal
temperature is between 25 and 30 degrees. The hepatus is
known in Mauritian language as “chirurgien”. |
