The Ganges River flow through
different cities in India and is considered as a sacred river.
The Indian call it Ganga, from where comes also the name Ganga
Talao of the famous place in Mauritius Island. Ganges River goes
through India, Bangladesh and Nepal; it has a length of over two
thousand five hundred thousand kilometres. The river Ganga takes
origin in the Himalayas. The Hindus call the river also Ganga
Ma, Ma is mother. Lot o the Indian community believes that the
water of the river is pure and when they wash themselves with it
they will be clean and pure. It is said that the lake in Grand
Bassin is connected to the Ganges and has been declared sacred
lake and every year there is a pilgrimage which is done from the
Hindu community to honor their god Shiva, this day is celebrated
the Maha Shivatree. |
