Ganesh is found in one of the small temples in Grand Bassin. Grand Bassin is found on the high central plateau of Mauritius Island and is a sacred lake for the Indian community of the Mauritius. It is also one of the most visited attractions of Mauritius. The legend says that the lake is related the Ganges River in India which is also considered as a holy place. The Lord Ganesh is one of the most popular Hindu God. As many other gods in Hinduism, he also has an animal head which is an elephant head with a human body having four arms. The Lord Ganesh has a big belly is known to be fond of fruits and sweets. As ornament he wears a snake round his belly. Ganesh is also as under other names as Pilliar, Gajanana, Ganapati, Vinayagar and Vigneshwara. The Hindu tradition says that Lord Ganesh is the god lick, wisdom and success. Traditionally Hindus worship Ganesh before starting new things as before starting a new work, before having a new house. Hindus believes in different gods which most of them are with animal heads. Animals are usually very sacred for Hindus as cows, monkeys and elephants. IN the mythology there are different stories about the Lord Ganesh.
