Pamplemousses garden is a
magnifcent area surrounded with quantity of flowers. The famous
botanical garden is located in the northern part of Mauritius
Island not far from the capital city, Port Louis. The garden has
been renamed a few years in honor of Sir S. Ramgoolam, who led
Mauritius Island to independence, the garden is now known as Sir
Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden. The garden had various
name as Jardin de Mon Plaisir, Botanical Royal, Garden of
Pamplemousses. During the French colonisation Mahé de
Labourdonnais bought this enormous property and made of it what
you can visit nowadays, the garden has had of course some
changes. That must have been a great when you imagine having a
garden as this one with a magnificent house in the middle. |
