The
devil firefish is found in one of the aquarium tank of Mauritius
and also in the Mauritian sea. Its scientific name is known as
pterois miles and forms part of the scorpaenidae family. It is a
salt water fish. The dorsal spines of the devil fish are very
long. It has a large mouth. The maximum size can be 50cm. It is
a quite unique fish; it does not resemble any other species. It
is also known as lion fish, turkey fish, firefish. It is also
quite common in aquarium. The Mauritian knows the devil firefish
as “laffe volant”.
