Deer are species that can also be
seen in the Casela Bird Park in Black River, Mauritius. Black
River is a district located in the western part of the island.
You can see above a picture of one of the deer in the park. The
deer is known as ruminant mammal forming part of the Cervidae’s
family. In the deer family there are different species some male
are known as bucks, hart, bulls or poops and females as cows or
heeds. The deer is also an animal which is widely hunted in
different part of the world. In Mauritius there is some period
of the year where you can buy deer meat to eat but not the whole
