The day octopus can be found in one
of the tank of the Mauritius aquarium in Pointe aux
Piments. It is a very interesting animal. The day
octopus has the ability to change colours very quickly
and also skin texture. You can spend hours looking at it
in the tank. The octopus is a cephalopod. There is over
250 species of octopus. Some octopuses species do not
live long, some of them have a life span of only six
months, and some other species as the North Pacific
Giant Octopus can live up to five years also depending
in which circumstance they are living. The octopus has
three hearts, one of the heart pumps blood the body the
2 others pump blood through each of the 2 gills.
Octopuses are known to be quite intelligent and may be
the most intelligent invertebrates. |
