The blue green chromis, chromis
viridis the scientific name, from the pomacentridae
family, is a fish from salt water which can be found in
the Mauritian sea. It is originally from the red sea. It
has a size of around 8 cm. The chromis viridis has an
oval shape and has a blue green colour. This type of
fish is mostly found in lagoon reefs, the blue green
chromis can found in up to 12 meters depth in sea. The
colour varies from dark green to light blue and adult
male nesting will have a yellow colour. The blue green
chromis can be easily maintained in aquarium, there is
no special or difficult maintenance needed, it eats all
kind of frozen, live foods and algae. The Mauritian name
for the blue green chromis is “ breterre”. |
