The Chinese ring necked pheasant is endemic to Asia but has been introduced in other countries too. The pheasant has been mainly introduced as a game bird and is known as the most hunted bird of the world. The Chinese ring necked pheasant is also called common pheasant. On the above picture you can see the Chinese ring necked pheasant in the Casela Bird Park of Mauritius Island. The park is well known for the large number of bird species it has. Located in the western part of the island, it is a lot visited by tourists; the park has also other animals as tigers, monkeys, deer, tortoises and even a mini farm.
