If there was not the seven colors
earth at Chamarel may this small village in Black River would be
a tourist attraction. Chamarel is a small village, which is
located between Black River village and Le Morne peninsula.
There is also the parc adventure open since 2003, a park with
different activities for children and adults. The seven colored
earth is just a natural phenomena, it is not unique to
Mauritius. The colored sand you see were in the past volcanic
rocks which became ashes with erosion. Something very strange is
that when you try to mix the different earth colors, after a
certain time they will automatically separate again. |
