Chamarel is a well known
sightseeing place in Mauritius Island. The multi colors sand
also known as seven colored earth is a real curiosity for
tourist visiting Mauritius Island and for the Mauritian too.
Chamarel is a small village located in the Black River district,
one of the nine districts of Mauritius Island. Chamarel seven
colored earth is a place where you see different layers of earth
each of different colors. The multi colors sand is actually
volcanic rocks that became ashes with time, very long time ago,
these ashes contains mineral oxides. Colored earth as in
Mauritius exist also in other countries of the world, it is not
unique to Mauritius. |
