The blue crowned pigeon is a
member of the pigeon family. There are three species of crowned
pigeons known under the genus of Goura. The blue crowned pigeon
can be seen in the bird park named Casela located in the
district of Black River on the west side of the island of
Mauritius. The Casela Bird Park is a lot visited by tourists and
schools of the islands. In Mauritius, it is the only park where
you can see so many bird species. The crowned pigeon are natives
of New Guinea and some of the surrounding islands. Both female
and male crowned pigeon look almost the same. The life span of
these splendid birds may be over twenty years. |
