The macaw is usually a very colourful bird, they are considered as new World Parrots. The macaws are the largest birds in the parrot family. In Mauritius, you can watch this splendid bird in the Casela Bird Park located on the west side of the island near the coastal village of Flic and Flac. There is a lot of tourist who walk from the village of Flic en Flac to the park. In the bird park, you will discover the blue and yellow macaw, a very beautiful bird to admire. Most macaw species like forest areas as habitat and mainly rainforest. Macaws are endemic from Central and tropical South America and Mexico. The macaws in captivity eat usually fruit and nuts.
