Near the Port Louis Market there
is a large number of salesmen selling sweet cakes, fruits. On
the picture you can see a salesman selling pineapples and
mangos. The photo has been probably taken at the end of the year
because mangos are not fruits that are not seen all year round.
Mango trees flower during the middle of the year and gives fruit
during summer time mainly between November and January. Salesmen
as the one on the picture are seen in every street corner and
stand the whole day long trying to sell their products and this
is what they mainly do for their living. They don’t earn a lot
of money, may be just enough sometimes for food for the family.
